I, Hephaestus, am the best craftsmen and blacksmith in all of Olympus. i I have watched Odysseus through his journeys. As I watched Odysseus struggle through the Trojan War I was amazed at how well he fought with the dull and crappy weapons he had. Those weapons were no matches compared to any of the weapons that I had created in my time. He probably would not have made it out alive had it not been for my beautiful stepsister Athena and her amazing battle strategy. And where was Ares during this war? There was more strategy then just hand-to-hand combat going on, maybe that’s why the war lasted for 10 years.
Now what I don’t get is how can someone go from being in the middle of a war to raiding some random island? That aggravates me; those people were doing him no harm. But he got what was coming to him and his men when they islanders attacked and killed most of them. Serves him right for all that he’s done. And HA, falling for the Lotus Eaters? That’s what chumps do. That’s pretty amateur stuff right there. But it is pretty funny to watch.
What really gets me angry is how he decided to attack Polyphemus. Polyphemus was just minding his own business. I mean yes he did eat Odysseus’ men, but they shouldn’t have been in his cave in the first place. They should have just minded their own business. So Odysseus kind of deserved everything that he got. But giving Polyphemus that much wine was wrong. That’s like drugging someone, which I don’t care where you’re from that’s a bad thing. I kind of admire how Odysseus crafted that giant spear that he blinded Polyphemus with. And the way he cooked it in the fire so that it would be hot and blind him, that was pretty clever.
Taking all of Polyphemus’ cattle too, now that’s some real jerk stuff. He should have just left after they had escaped. Heck, they should have never even gone into his cave. I work with Cyclopes all the time building weapons, tools, thrones and jewelry. If I was there I would have ended him for hurting a friend of mine. After that taunt Odysseus made I hope Poseidon dose wreak havoc on Odysseus and his crew for hurting his son. If he doesn’t avenge his son then that’s not good parenting. And now none of the other Cyclopes will help Polyphemus because Odysseus tricked him by telling his name is NoBhdy.
